When you take your pet to the vet in North Scottsdale AZ, the first they ask is what do you feed them.

Chiropractic North Scottsdale AZ What do you feed your pet

Think of the last time your doctor asked you what are you eating (and drinking) in North Scottsdale AZ? Most patients say, their doctor has never asked that. It is very important for anyone treating you, to know what is going into your body. The condition is not the person. It's necessary to connect the body to the person, and then to connect the person to the condition. We are not just 2 knees, or a spine, etc. walking around. We are complete bodies with emotions and feelings that affect the condition and vice versa. Our bodies are a direct result of what we put into them and nourish or do not nourish them.

How our Diet Affects Us in North Scottsdale AZ

Many patients associate diet with weight loss or weight gain. They also perceive the word 'diet' as severe restrictions that are hard to live by. The reality is, that when you follow a balanced non-inflammatory way of life, including diet, your weight, bloodwork, and body fat will balance as well. I've been living a non-inflammatory diet and lifestyle for over 10 years now. My blood work, body composition, skin, and energy levels reflect it. I still enjoy many things that others do and am not interested in going back to my old way of life. As a chiropractic physician, for years, I ate what I thought was a healthy diet. Also cardio was my main form of exercise, as I thought that would help me to keep my body fat down. In reality, the foods I was eating were causing me to hold onto a higher body fat percentage, even though I was a women's size 6-8. I am still a size 6-8, but my body fat percentage is much lower, and my muscle mass is greater. There's a term out there, 'skinny fat'. I see this often in people who do not build muscle, and rely on cardio or yoga as their only source of exercise. They may be a smaller size person, but their body fat percentage is a higher unhealthy one because of the lack of muscle mass. The recent research on anti-aging and maintaining health as we age is recommending more weight bearing exercise like weightlifting, to increase strength, balance, and maintain a higher metabolism. These will also promote healthier, more balanced blood sugar levels.

For those who are willing to make the changes toward a non or low inflammatory lifestyle, I recommend having bloodwork done first. This gives us a baseline to see where your inflammatory markers are. We can also watch those inflammatory levels go down. The more they go down, the more you will see the most of your other bloodwork balance out. You will also feel better pretty quickly, depending on how compliant you are. It's not really that difficult, and most people find that when they remove some things from their diet, it's less expensive than the way they were previously eating. Just please remember that not everything we are told is good for us, is healthy. The old Food Pyramid was upside-down. We've got to make these changes in our diet if we want to reduce the chances of serious illnesses like diabetes, heart disease, and dementia. There is so much more to this, and not all of it is "One size fits all". For a customized plan that can work for you, please call my office for a complimentary consultation.
